The World Health Organization released a report earlier this week stating that cell phone use could be “possibly carcinogenic to humans.” According to the WHO, there is some evidence suggesting that phone use increases the risk of brain cancer, but not to fear — this may be a case of the media latching on to a scary story.
Dr. Kornel assures us that there’s nothing to worry about for now. He tells the New York Daily News “There’s no hard data to show a definite link between cell phones and cancer.” The paper is also happy to note that he delivered this statement while on a cell phone.
