When tragedy unfolded in Arizona, news organizations turned to Dr. Ed Kornel to offer expert insight on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ injuries. Dr. Kornel’s experience continues to be invaluable to newscasters. In 1981, he was part of the team that treated Reagan Press Secretary, James Brady, immediately after the assassination attempt on President Reagan, and was instrumental in Brady’s recovery. Today, he is the director of the Institute for Neurosciences at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY, and has been on the forefront of minimally-invasive neurosurgery in the New York metro region.

“I’d like to express my deepest sympathies to the families of those who perished and a speedy recovery to those who survived,” notes Dr. Kornel.
